The Heart & Stroke First Aid Guideline Update Student Reference is the required course resource for Heart & Stroke's Standard (16-hour) First Aid course. The Student Reference has been updated to include the most recent science from the 2015 Guidelines Update.
Canadian workplace first aid training regulators require the use of materials that incorporate the revised science from the 2015 Guidelines Update on all First Aid courses. Our newly revised course materials integrate the science from the Canadian Consensus Guidelines on First Aid and CPR. These newly revised materials feature 17 key topics pertaining to updated science including the FAST assessment tool for stroke, updates to the CPR sections reflecting the changes in compression rate and depth, and a revised anaphylaxis protocol, among others.
The new materials feature a revised cover design, incorporating our 2015 Guidelines ribbon and revised colour treatment, making it easy to distinguish from past versions.
